 Who is this girl?

I am a junior English major/Spanish minor at Samford University. After two years, I am still passionately in love with my major. My chosen discipline trains me to weave together the analytical with the creative, and gives me the tools to express important ideas in a clear and relevant manner.

Writing is my passion, and I hope to channel it into a venue of service that reaches and resonates with other people. Right now, my top career choices are counseling and magazine publishing.

I would love to work for a magazine in any of my current interests, but am very open to and intrigued by the possibility of working with a publication in an area that I have not explored. My dream is to reach people through and online website that serves their interests and speaks to their life.

Counseling also fascinates me. I believe it is deeply linked to the discipline of English, with its emphasis on character analysis and study of identity and motives. My own battles with an eating disorder in high school have given me the desire to help other girls and women who share the same struggle.

When I'm not studying or in class, you can find me listening to Nickel Creek or cooking Saturday night supper with my friends. On campus, I am a member of Phi Mu sorority and have been heavily involved in Reformed University Fellowship since my freshman year.
