Green TechnologyIn compliance with Samford University's GoGreen! initiative, Technology Services has provided detailed instructions for reducing power consumption on desktop computers. Enabling our computers to be more "envrionmentally friendly" is one way we can be good stewards of our resources and environment.
For more information regarding Samford's GoGreen! initiative, click here. | | Considerate CareYou've seen Samford employees with the "Please consider the environment..." message as part of their email footer. Did you know that the message is very easy to add to your HTML email signature? Simply copy and paste the following into your HTML signature: Please consider the environment before printing this email.
The symbol is actually not an image, but the letter 'P' in the Webdings font, a font your computer already has! You can use a similar message on other types of media (i.e. web pages) too! Use the following HTML in your web pages to help promote environmental stewardship:
<font color="#006600″ face="Webdings" size="+3″>P</font><font color="#006600″> <strong>Please consider the environment before printing this email.</strong></font>
That's all there is to it! | | Below, you'll find instructions for reducing power consumption on your computer. Please click the name of your operating system for instructions on how to set your computer for energy efficiency. |
