Orff Master Class
This course focuses on advanced techniques and pedagogy in the Orff Schulwerk using the five volumes of Music for Children and Paralipomena by Orff and Keetman. Explore performance, improvisation, analysis and composition, with an emphasis on the 21st-century vision of teaching as a basis to encourage students to collaborate, take risks, discover, and become their own composers, dancers and creators. Explore contemporary musical models as well as reinforce materials from the first three Orff "levels" while discovering your own musical and movement-based voice through the Orff Schulwerk lens.
The course will take place June June 10th through June 14th from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Instructional materials estimated cost should be $100-$150 per participant.
