Location: Academy of the Arts & Campus of Samford University
Tuition includes T-shirt, ensemble music, and lunch in the cafeteria.
Adventures in Music is a fun and educational day camp open to students interested in continuing their studies in piano. Activities include classes in music literature, theory, and ensemble, four private 30-minute lessons, practice time, and group activities during our opening and closing sessions each day. Students are directed by faculty members and university student assistants for class changes, practice time, breaks, and lunch.
Friday is filled with exciting activities and performances! Campers work together in teams during a scavenger hunt which is coordinated to the camp theme each year. Campers also test their knowledge with theory and music literature games. Friday afternoon includes a solo recital to which family and friends are invited. Camp concludes with the Adventures in Music Gala Recital during which students perform the ensemble piece learned through the week.
Students must have sheet music for solo recital pieces (book or legal download). Students may not perform pieces if they do not have the sheet music for it on the first day of camp. Pieces must be memorized for solo recital performance.
