SDBS
The Spectral Database for Organic Compounds, SDBS, is a site where the spectroscopic information of thousands of compounds can be found. You can search by compound name, formula, molecular wieght, CAS #, and even atomic distribution range. You can also select what kind of spectra you are seeking. Ultimately, this resource can be used to acquire information about your starting materials, and can provide useful spectroscopic analogies for compounds you are trying to synthesize.

Chem by Design, developed by Dr. Jon Njardarson, has the step-by-step syntheses of thousands of natural products and drugs dating back to 1939. You can click through the syntheses step by step, or quiz yourself! This outstanding tool was published in the Journal of Chemical Education and is available for free at the link to the left. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, in the Howard College of Arts and Sciences at Samford University. Here you can find course information, faculty contact information, and the Student Members of the American Chemical Society (SMAACS). You can also learn about research opportunities. One of the most important parts of the website is the Site License for ChemDraw and the facilities/instrumentation information.
